PhD candidate modeling how disturbances such as invasive grasses, management, land use & fire affect pine forest stands in the Southeastern United States. Broadly, I want to understand what modeling ecosystems can tell us about ecological theory, and how improving ecological theory can help make ecosystem behavior easier to predict.
